Yes, your reading this right. I finally have a new blog. Check it out at: www.mindlesswandering.com

Hey, I actually haven’t been doing nothing lately…I is been graduated. Nevertheless however, bad grammar and talking about my graduation isn’t why I’m posting here today.

I entered the “Gummy Dwarf” animation in the mytoon’s “Get with the Times!” contest and now I need you to go vote for me. The “Gummy Dwarf” is making a come back in widescreen HD (meaning four more trees), so go to http://mytoons.com/animation/play/16179 and vote. You can vote for my animation once every hour, so if you have an extra free second each hour…please go vote for me!

…and just in case your lazy like me, I figured out 4 easy steps to voting.

1. Register or Log In

step 1

2. Go to http://mytoons.com/animation/play/16179

3. Click the “Cast your Vote” button

4. Repeat steps 1-3 in one hour.

…and its as easy as that.

Thanks in advance,

Believe it or not, but I’m not dead yet – I’ve just been a slight bit busy lately.

There are several things I would like to mention in this short update. If you read the last post, then you know I had some computer trouble over the last couple of weeks. I’m very happy to say that I didn’t lose any of the important data on my harddrive. I was really scared that I had lost everything when it crashed, but it turns out that it was just the startup part of the harddrive that broke.

A couple of days ago I received a package from mytoons that contained a bunch of loot and a certificate saying I was the rising star winner. The shirts from mytoons are always amazing!

I haven’t been able to animate much lately due to school, work, and having the computer problems. Any time that I have spent animating has been on a random assortment of projects. Hopefully I can finish something in the near future.

One thing that I have been messing around with is a new blog. I was aiming for a more “portfolio style” blog with only animation and art and nothing else. I’m not completely happy with the way it turned out, but you can check it out at http://www.jamescreated.blogspot.com/. Feel free to leave me a comment with your opinion of it.

And finally, because I didn’t have any new animations to show, I thought I’d suggest some to watch. Check out part 1 of my friend’s animation Cer-Real 3: The Movie! It is hullarious! Also, another friend of mine started his own blog to showcase his animations. So check it out at http://incavestudios.wordpress.com/.

Hey everyone! I have a some of new things to talk about – some really good and some extremely bad.

First off, I’ll start out with the good news (good news is always better anyways).

I won the mytoons bumper blastoff contest. Did you hear me? I won the mytoons bumper blastoff contest. And Not only did I win the contest, but I was the “Super Rising Star Winner”!

The contest was setup with two different ways you could enter – Super Stars (for everyone) and Rising Stars (for people in school). Out of those, they chose three Super Star Winners and six Rising Star Winners. Out of those winners, they chose one Super Super Star Winner and one Super Rising Star Winner. I was the Super Rising Star Winner!

You can check out the contest page here and my winning bumper here.

….And onto the bad news.

My hard drive crashed on Monday. Which means I’ve lost just about EVERYTHING! Well, not everything, I at random backed up my flash files in January…So I’ve only lost the most recent stuff that I’ve done (the cooler stuff). I should have a new hard drive by next Monday so I can get back up and running and I will be able to try to save some of the data on my old hard drive. Hopefully not everything will be lost.

Whats makes this really sad is the timing. I have been planing on upgrading and building a new computer in the next couple of weeks….so if my old hard drive would have just waited to die until AFTER I had moved all my files to a new computer, I wouldn’t have cared if it died.

And, I just won the Mytoons Bumper Blastoff Contest. Being the “Super Rising Star” winner, I get my portfolio review by some really great animators…but guess where most of what I have that would be defined as a portfolio resides…yes, on the dead hard drive. Timing is everything…

I’ve got tons more ideas and things I want to work on, but with my hard drive being dead, those will all have to wait.

Until next time,

PS…sorry if this is a bit sloppy, I haven’t had the greatest week (except the part where I found out I won the contest) with being sick a bunch and my hard drive crashing…

Three things in today’s weather forcast.

  • I won the mytoons Krispy Kreme doughnut contest! I just hope that the doughnuts I get are not a recreation of my particular doughnuts I created. The contest was celebrating Matt Groening’s birthday and was a lot of fun…and today I received my doughnut coupons!

  • I am one of twenty mytoons Bumper Blastoff Finalists! And guess which animation of mine is the finalist? FruitToons! I personally liked the Mytoons Fight animation much better…but I guess if you look at which one is more original and creative, Fruittoons is definitely the winner. They will announce the winners next Wednesday, the twelfth of March.

  • Unbeknown to me, The Lord of the Things has been uploaded to the Mytoons Youtube page. And bigger then that, it has over 14,000+ views!!! Did you hear me? Fourteen Freakin Thousand Views! It’s currently at 14,564 views…that’s a lot.

More things in the works…

Hey, just thought I’d mention that both the Lord of the Things animation and the Abyss Run game were featured yesterday on the Mytoon’s “Famous Today”!

Sorry I’m a little late with this new, but I was incredibly busy yesterday…

Also, I originally didn’t plan on finishing any more bumpers for the mytoons contest, but I was inspired today and spent a ton of time working on one. All I have left is to polish it out a little and add some music/sound. Hopefully I will have enough time tomorrow to finish it…

Until next time,

I haven’t posted anything recently because I haven’t had anything to say for the last couple of days. However, today that has changed.

First off, I got interviewed by someone from the Current, San Antonio’s alternative newspaper, about how I use Mytoons. I normally really hate talking on the phone for any reason, but it actually turned out to be pretty cool. So go check out the article here.

The blog has reached over 1000+ hits and 200+ spam, so that’s really cool. Special thanks to my Amsterdam friends for all the spam!

On a more random note, did anyone else notice that my Valentine’s greeting got put on mytoons favorite list on Valentine’s Day and then mysteriously disappeared the day after?

Also, I should be finishing up another short creation for the bumper blastoff in next day or two…so stay tuned, more to come.
